POSTPARTUM CARE

Professional support for a successful introduction to family life

In the first 6 weeks after childbirth, mothers enter the early and late stages of recovery and babies start to continually adjust to their new surroundings outside the womb.

First and foremost, it’s a period characterised by getting to know each other and develop a trusting bond. A time during which mothers and fathers enter their new roles and establish a new daily schedule for the family, which requires caring support.
It marks an exciting, often surprising and incredibly challenging phase on the journey to becoming a family. Patience and optimism are key to help new parents confidently apply everything they have learned and intuitively understand their baby’s signals and needs. Mothers require a high level of support and care to help their bodies recover, balance their hormones and finally get a good night’s sleep, at least gradually.

Benefit from my 15 years of experience and resulting services to guide you through this often stressful transition between pregnancy and parenthood and enjoy some relief during the highly intimate postpartum period.

Ilka is such a midwife who provides care that makes you find your best options in the times you feel you are lost. She is always optimistic and makes you believe yourself as well with such a good and well advised support! She was my afterbirth midwife for my daughter and i was lucky enough to have her as my afterbirth midwife for my son too. Best of luck Ilka, you are the best!

Jessica

With Ilka we had a perfect companion in our life as a threesome. So much is new in the situation, so much is unfamiliar and with many things you are unsure. With her calm, professional manner, her experience and her “always-ready attitude”, Ilka managed to bring security and routine into our new life. Whether it was phone calls still from the hospital, her first visit to us on the day of hospital discharge – to give us security for the first night – or her valuable tips and instructions on early postnatal exercises (a very important topic that unfortunately not every midwife addresses), we felt super cared for with Ilka and would immediately choose her again as a midwife! Thank you dear Ilka!
